Accreditation of vocational qualifications - EPANIL
Our school has a long-term experience of educating cooks and many
achievements in the field of educational vocational work. In 2005 our
school joined the national system of educational institutions which are
involved in KSAPL programme. It concerns accreditation of
qualifications and vocational skills that are acquired in any possible
way, also as a result of informal (outside school) forms of training
throughout the lifetime (within the framework of Leonardo DaVinci
Programme- ,,European Common Principles for the Accreditation of
Non-formal and Informal Learning in Lifelong Learning”, in short Epanil).
This procedure has been introduced and consequently developed in the
European Community and it aims at unification of education standards
and vocational promotion also among people who seek employment.
The core of vocational accreditation is the practical exam. A
participant of the programme (client of our institution) applies for
such an exam, as a result of which (s)he may obtain a certificate that
is a document legally valid in all member states of the European
Community. This certificate also determines a person’s vocational
aptitude.
It should be emphasized that our offer is directed not only towards our
graduates, but for all people who do not have any document confirming
their vocational qualifications and work, or would like to work in the
gastronomy sector.
So far we have conducted three instructional accreditation exams for
cooks and waiters. The participants were volunteering students from
third and fourth classes of technical college. Similar procedures have
been introduced in other programme partnering countries – The
Czech Republic, Slovakia, Great Britain, Germany and France.
